The Prosthetic Army

The two-fingered V is universally recognized as symbol of peace. I wonder if people also recognize that the meaning of symbols change over time . . . The same symbols that were used to protest the Vietnam War were eventually used to sell bellbottoms at the GAP™. Before we even had time to recognize the irony in this, history began to repeat itself. Here it is 2008, and I'm using a new peace symbol to sell some clothes. The Prosthetic Army design reconnects the peace symbol with the grim reality of war and manages to raise some money for good cause.
